Practically Perfect in Every Way!

When I was admitted to the Hospital I was already at a 6!

An hour later at a 9... with no epidural...

"ouch" is. putting. it. mildly!

My doctor was with another patient (an emergency c-section) along with our anesthesiologist.
*apparently he was the only guy in the building that night*

*enter contrations at a 9.5

My room was filled with nurses prepping the room for my labor,

while I shaking the hand of a new doctor I had never met.
He was politely telling me that there was no chance I was going to have an epidural...
that "this baby was coming.... and were ready. to. go."

Um...no...!
I literally shooed him out of my room and told him to come back later! :)

I was going to make an epidural... (but apparently I was the only one who thought this!)
*our hospital will administer an epidural as long as your water has not broken and the baby isn't on its way... bless them*

long story short...
I made the epidural!
I silently tried to breathe through each contraction as to not push the baby out and soon my doctor arrived along with the anesthesiologist!

Bless this man... This doctor man who looked and sounded exactly like the actor Jeff Bridges...
he was quick and steady with that epidural.

It was an easy delivery after that!
Liv made her appearance after two sets of pushes!

We are over the moon for this gal... and so happy to be a family of four!

Well, with our Baby Girl due literally any day now, I wanted to get caught up on our blog!

It's true, my last post was from November of 2010!
*so start back there and work your way up...if you want to...*

The truth is: that since I have been pregnant I haven't felt like doing much of anything!

Maybe it is the "nesting instinct" that has finally kicked in,
but I wanted to get it finished before we were off to the hospital
and for the sake of my journaling!

I can finally shout Hooray, because this is no longer weighing on my mind -
and after (what has felt like a million hours on the computer and hundreds of photos later) I can safely say that we are caught up folks!

So, baby girl you can now make your entrance into the world!
Seriously, any time now would be great!

In November a group of us took the kids to the petting zoo...

I thought I would enjoy this, but honestly the animals kind of freaked me out!!

...trying to chase down rabbits, feeding the Llamas (I promise you they were going to jump the fence)
and making my way through (what felt like) hundreds of territorial Nigerian Dwarf Goats
was not what I had anticipated....still, it was fun and I will probably go back :)

Well... I have and that was all I could think about!

Maybe I am just a sissy...it's probably true!

But, the kids loved it so on went my not-so-brave face!

Thompson had to pick up this bunny for me and put it in my lap so I could try and get a photo with Jo.

"T" is brave and those guys are fast!

The rabbit did not like this...and kept trying to escape!

I held on tight though...only long enough have some photos snapped!

At the end of October we attended our first UCLA football game!

We met Dad for lunch, a merry-go-round ride, and of course a cupcake!

Before we left for New Hampshire I was busy getting the house cleaned and ready to go.

I put some trash in a Trader Joe's paper bag by the front door to walk out to the dumpster -

On top was an empty Ben and Jerry's carton of Phish Food Ice Cream - our treat from the night before!

Here is what I found...

I was literally able to sneak up on her and take a photo without her even knowing I was there! Ha!
I am telling you...
I could hear her grunting and licking every last drop of left over ice cream.
It was a good laugh!

On July 3, 2010 we celebrated the 4th with a backyard BBQ.

It was so fun getting together.
The food was amazing, the decorations were darling, and the company was great!

It was a great day...

I had lunch with my girlfriends,

Mikelle watched Jo after so Bryan and I could go on a late afternoon date,

(an all-time favorite italian restaurant of ours)

It was a Fabulous Birthday!

Utah Part 1

In March, After my brothers wedding, we met Bryan's family in Utah for a little Spring Skiing,
Baby Blessings and of course...the company!

funny story:

Bryan and I were supposed to leave wednesday night to SLC.

All Bags are packed!

We get to the airport...all the way to the check-in counter...

give them our ID's and we hear,
"Im sorry, you are not scheduled on this flight."

WHAT?!

we looked at each other for a moment, *pleasantly* talked to the man...
and then soon realized that NEITHER of us had booked the tickets to get to Salt Lake that night..
or any night for that matter!

Silently. Back to the car we went. Bags. Baby. Stroller. Car seat. And All!
I now understand the meaning of the word "tired" when you have a new baby :)

-we had to be at the airport at 5:00 am the next morning-

Little C and her family came to visit CA for their Christmas Vacation!

It was so fun having these two together!

Maryland for Thanksgiving

Giving Thanks

We spent Thanksgiving in Maryland this year and we had a blast! Although, the flight across the country had me worried when Jo was only about 2 months old.... (I basically hid her under the "hooter hider" the whole time as to NOT let a SINGLE SOUL even breathe in her direction) *I wonder if I will lighten up by the time I get to my last child**

We made it to Maryland!

She did great; basically slept the entire flight! I however was sweating the ENTIRE time and cursing the man behind me (in my head of course!) that kept coughing and sneezing!!! **was he not aware that their was a baby on board?... let alone my baby!!! I suppose this is how all new moms behave...who knows, maybe it's just me?** :)

We had Thanksgiving Dinner at the farm with Foulger cousins. We had somewhat around 75-80 people there...and that was just family! There were pony rides and an archery range for the children and Uncle Brent even took people on a hayride! The Aunts did an AMAZING job decorating the barn...I felt like I had just walked into a Martha Stewart magazine.

Well... come to think of it,

Martha has nothing on these women!!

Jo was also able to meet her Uncle Owen for the first time!

It was such a sweet moment!

Makin' Me Happy

But Momma, these shoes are makin' me HAPPY today! :)

I just picked up these gals up at Forever 21!

And, I must say...

they are putting a little skip in my step!

and, for Only $14.95...i couldn't pass them up!

*p.s. they run about a size too big. I am a 9 and am wearing an 8*

This little kiddo came to us two weeks early! All 8 pounds and 4 ounces of her! And so it goes, here is the story of her birth...

Sunday evening after general conference i started to go into labor (this was "not so" in my mind; I had not even packed my hospital bags yet! after-all, i still had two weeks! or so we thought!) After cleaning the house, ironing my pajamas, showering, and... rearranging her nursery, I was finally ready to go.

We (even the nursing staff) were positive this was a false alarm! I know the nurse was thinking, "first time mom, we see this all the time..." We didn't even take our bags into the hospital with us! Sure enough, it was NOT a false alarm and I was in labor!

I am pretty sure I didn't know what I was getting myself into with this whole "going into labor thing...!" I commend any mom who does this without an epidural! Wow! I however, decided NOT to take that route. Come to think of it, the thought never even crossed my mind! (wink, wink)

After the "good doctor" gave me the epidural, it was time to rest. I was very very grateful to this man and kept telling him so over and over again! However, i don't know how anyone falls asleep at a time like this! I couldn't- So, 100 phone calls and 10 perfectly painted nails later, I was finally fast asleep.

To make a good story even better, i ended up sleeping for over an hour! When the nursing staff finally awakened me, I pushed for 2 hours and our sweet baby was born! It was amazing! She is amazing! We are so grateful she decided to come to our house! This is our journey at the hospital...

Blake, Nicole, and Summer came for a visit as well!

We left the hospital a day early! They wanted us to stay there for 3 days...we couldn't, we were going "stir-crazy". After day 2, we were ready to run out of there! It did however feel like we were stealing a baby on our way home! A bit surreal... but i think we will keep her! ;)

We were lucky enough to have some photos taken while my parents were in town helping with the baby. It was a fluke... lets just say "we got lucky".

Here is how the story goes: We were on our way out the door taking my parents to the airport. We quickly decided to snap some family photos with our camera, using the timer! This was not working out so well! Randomly, a woman was passing by our condo so I asked her if she could take a quick photo...? She said yes, but wanted to grab her husband instead. Why, you ask? He is a photographer!

Uh-oh. I was standing there in sweatpants.... I ran inside to quickly change and grab a shirt for Bryan. (hey! I figured if this man was going to take our first family photo...I was not going to be there with my baggy sweatpants on!)I grabbed the first thing I could find (didn't want to keep the nice man waiting) :)

Please excuse the fact that we look sleep deprived, it was still a great moment for us!
